Tamizhininan, a 2-month-old baby boy from Tiruvarur, Tamil Nadu, India, required specialised treatment for a complex congenital heart condition and underwent PA (Pulmonary Artery) Banding along with Atrial Septectomy.

In 2024, Tamizhininan received specialised cardiac treatment at AIMS, Cochin. Pulmonary artery banding is used in certain congenital heart conditions to control excessive blood flow to the lungs, while atrial septectomy creates or enlarges an opening between the upper chambers of the heart to support more effective blood circulation.
